#Mem problems, and othrs
I have recently purchased 3D Studio and I have a few technical
questions for anyone able to answer them. The major problem I am
having concerns ending the program. When I select the quit command
all I get is a blank screen with the message: "Memory allocation
error cannot load COMMAND, system halted". Needless to say, having
to reboot every time I quit 3D Studio is somewhat annoying. I have
tried different config's, some with qemm, some without, and some
using memmaker in dos 6. My system is a 486DX/33 with 8MB RAM. I have
talked to some other users to no avail.
Problem number two concerns the 3D Studio CD. How can I get
the materials from the CD into the Materials Editor. I set the paths
dictated by the information in the set file, and have accessed all
other areas of the CD. However I still cannot figure out how to
assign a material from the CD to an object I have created. Do I have
to copy them to my HD? I hope not!
The last problem (well more of a question really) is in
scaling objects. When merging the supplied meshes they are not
proportional in size when when the enter the 3d-editor. eg. an
automobile may be roughly the same size as a pair of sunglasses. I
know it is possible to scale objects to change their size, but can
you group objects before scaling. eg. when scaling the mesh of a MIDI
keyboard is there anyway to scale the whole thing, or do I have to
scale every key,button,and knob separately?
I hope these problems are simple ones to answer, and any
insite would be greatly appreciated! \
Thanks.
