Bill: I like your list. Part A we cover with the ACE (Level I and II). Part B can be accomplished with a resume/portfolio of past work. I was also considering a curriculum development component. I'd have to be careful, cause my own standards are pretty high here. I saw a training manual the other day that didn't contain a single graphic or screen shot. Just pages of typed text, all in the same font, very bland and boring. To me, that is unacceptable. The Delivery portion is the tough one. In general, I don't agree that a phone interview accomplishes this. I know I feel much more comfortable with some visual aides (whiteboard, demo machine, etc.) to work with to enhance the demonstrations. The phone interview would miss this. Which leads me back to the videotaped sessions. I agree these can be rehearsed with "planted students". The camera-shy element is there, but I'm not sure this should be an excuse. The other option is a special "Certification Seminar" where presentations are made and critiqued. -KLF
