Dale: Gasoline is a sort of "dongle" for your car. Without it, you can't go anywhere. You have to pay for it. Better that our cars would run on free air, but face it, we're at the mercy of the oil companies. We don't have to like it, but we have to deal with it. I buy gasoline all the time from companies whose policies I dislike. Do I have a choice besides riding my bike or walking? Nope. Am I making a political compromise? Sure am. I'm a pragamtist.
