Hey Guys, here amusing anecdote I was working on a complicated scene in r3. I came to the end of the work day, so I saved it. The next morning I came into work and opened the file to find that the a major piece wasn't there, as far as I could see. The program said it was still there, I could select it (no results), hide it and unhide it (for all the good that did, I couldn't see before OR AFTER I did these operations). I fixed the problem by merging the same object in from an earlier version and went on my merry way. Then it happened to the other artist in out group. The one correlation we could make was that it seemed to be the Highest object in the hierarchy. The sub-tree isn't effected in anyway, and if we merge the animation from the earlier version (as long as it hasn't changed) the tree and the animation remain intact. The two machines that this happens on are dissimilar but here are the spec: Tri-Star 486-33 Always SCSI controller Maxtor 210 SCSI Drive Diamond Speedstar 32 MB ram ProAudio Spectrum card Generic 486 66 #9GXI-TC Level 29 Adaptec 1542C Controller Quantum 545 MB SCSI hard drive 32MB Ram Pro Audiospectrum Toshiba internal doublespin CD ROM drive So, has anybody else had this trouble or is it evile elves in the night?
