Hey Guys, here amusing anecdote I was working on a complicated scene in r3. I came to the end of the work day, so I saved it. The next morning I came into work and opened the file to find that the a major piece wasn't there, as far as I could see. The program said it was still there, I could select it (no results), hide it and unhide it (for all the good that did, I couldn't see before OR AFTER I did these operations). I fixed the problem by merging the same object in from an earlier version and went on my merry way. Then it happened to the other artist in out group. The one correlation we could make was that it seemed to be the Highest object in the hierarchy. The sub-tree isn't effected in anyway, and if we merge the animation from the earlier version (as long as it hasn't changed) the tree and the animation remain intact.
