John: Are you using Stealth mode? I saw a message _somewhere_ that indicated that in Stealth mode, QEMM refuses to let programs have access to the BIOS (I guess they meant _directly_ as opposed to by calling an intertupt) and that hardware based VESA stuff could have problems. Also, though you say you've excluded the video card addresses, its POSITION in the QEMM command line MUST be before the stealth enable switch. The QEMM manual is very specific about when and where excludes must come in relation to certain other switches. If you ARE using stealth, I would first suggest turning it off, and seeing if the VESA modes are then recognized. If so, start looking at your switch order, and maybe leave some messages in the Quarterdeck forum. Dave
