Derek — I've been using ProWrite for about a month. Got it to do a project that involved manipulating large amount of text into Professional Page. 1) Haven't noticed any problem with the screen display. Am using a A4000 so I expect pretty quick refreshes. 2) I use a postscript printer. Mostly I'm dumping the text from ProWrite into Ppage and printing it from there, but I have printed a few things direct using the postscript mode. Works well and uses PS fonts that reside in the printer. 3) spell checker is OK. Is not as big as that included with some other wp software. Would be nice if it had the WordPerfect feature where you can tell it to skip a word once and then it won't select that word again in the document. I find the checker servicable, but not the best I've used. You're supposed to be able to add your own custom dictionaries, but the instructions are cryptic and I haven't deciphered them yet. 4) I've had a lot of fun writing little Arexx macros. I have a series for inserting typesetting codes at the beginning of lines: the macro moves the cursor to the beginning of the line, inserts the code and moves down to the next line. I also have one that opens a series of ProWrite files and saves them in ASCII format (for further manipulation in Arexx). Another macro takes the same set of files, adds a header and footer and prints. There's an extensive list of ARexx commands. I find it a significant limitation that you can only assign macros to the 10 function keys. These get used up pretty quickly. Would be nice if this were expanded. 5) I'm not up on what fonts it can use. I can access the postscript fonts, so that's enough for me. Good luck with your search, Barbara
