hate to say it, but if you have any dealings whatsoever with the military, or military contractors, you'll see DD-MMM-YY as well. _That_ format is what _I_ grew up with, not MMMM DD, YYYY. So, I wouldn't put much stock by the MMMM DD, YYYY format, although many do teach that. There are other formats that are regularly used in this society, including strange ones like YYDDD (Julian ;-).
