Actually, it's not just CIS using the different date format that I have a problem with. I find that sometimes other American computer users will also use it. I've bought a lot of music gear from the MIDI Forum and I also ask for a receipt. Sometimes I get a hand-written receipt from an American seller with the date written as 15-Aug-93. I don't know if they were a bad student in school, and are not aware that there is an official American date format and that's NOT it, or if they're trying to be different, or avant garde. Did these people always use this date format? I think not. I bet they used to use the proper American date format and later in life, for whatever reason, they decided to change. What's next? Are they going to start using the English pound to represent money? To me, using the non-American date format is the same thing.
