Need C++ help.
Doug,
I have a few questions about using SAS C++ 6.50.
First I cloned build.info and added a tooltype of "ALL_PROTOS", without
the quotes, to run smake to generate that target in the default makefile.
But when I double click on it, smake gives an error of "smk: cannot open
makefile". If I change the tootype to "-f smakefile ALL_PROTOS" it works
but the documents imply that I shouldn't have to do that. Is there a bug
there?
Second I have about 4 Meg of available free memory on my system after I
boot. When I compile some C++ programs memory has been getting tight.
Are my only options to:
– Free up a little more memory. No big blocks available other than
killing DOpus, NOT an option.
– Buy more memory, what are the recomendations as to, minimum size, nice
size…
– Play with the MemorySize option. Again, I didn't see any recomendations
in the manual. The default is large, but about how much memory do I need
to use large?
Third, is there no automatic way to get prototypes from mixed C and C++
files? I really, REALLY miss being able to do a GenProto. I hope
GenProto works for C++ files in the next upgrade, or better an upcoming
patch. I know the next patch wouldn't have it. 🙁
Thanks for your help.
