Mark, The silver platter mentality is such an injustice to students. The other sections are used almost as weeding out classes and are just as damaging an opposite extreme. There are also the instructors that teach according to recipe, which doesn't foster the thought process needed for independent problem solving and the cognitive interactions that promote exponential leaps in learning as opposed to the linear trudging that stymies even some of MY students.
