Chris: Sending faxes via v.17 (14.4) is quite commons nowadays. The software from Dr. Perry (GPFax) is almost T.30 compliant and he has versions for both classic class 2 (TR29) and class 1 (EIA578) modems. I have not heard that he has done support for 2.0, but then again, there is only two modems that support it to date. As for v.17 faxing, many stand alone fax nachines support it and will soon be support v.17terbo as well. I don't think the software (GPFax) support the short and long modes of v.17 and must be forcing 9600 transmissions. I have not yet had a chance to stick it on a Feline or HP protocol analyzer, but I am assuming that the software limits the modem environment to 9600. From what I can tell, the only difference between the Supra specific and generic versions is that the Supra version adds support for Silent Answer. I use the generic versions fine with a Supra as well as a GVC, USR, and Intel modem. -Jonathan
