Don't get me wrong, if all you want is checkbook and budgeting, Phasar can do it and relatively quickly. It doesn't have a flashy modern (graphic) interface, but it's been around for years so it is stable, I can't speak for other (newer) programs. For my needs, the investment tracking is not there, but it is a decent program. Others here have mentioned using GD Budget and might be able to give you some answers. It is graphic, but I don't know how it's features compare to Phasar (e.g., if Budget is more basic). *** jd
