John, Working freelance is nice, but the thought of working when you want doesn't seem to work out that way. Ideally I want to work for a couple of months and then take a couple weeks off of before working again, but right before you finish a job you get a call, and either it's a cool show that you don't want to turn down, or you start thinking "Gee, if I turn this one down they won't call me again" or " if I don't take this one, it could be months before I get something else" and then you notice its 2am, your still at work, and its been ages since you had a vacation! (and you still take the job!) I guess it could be worse, I know make-up fx people who would go 6 months without work, because shops have been having a hard time these past couple of years getting shows (due partly to the fact of the 'computer special effects revolution' that's taking Hollywood by storm. Everyone I know is worried that they will be out of work in two years because everything will be done on computers. Thats not going to happen to me… he he he!) Well, best of luck in your ventures. David
