You got me. I don't know if the CDR-77 is a SCSI device. I know the new models
are (CDR-83/84). If it is a SCSI device, it should be just a matter of plug and
play (provided you load the appropriate drivers). If it's some other type of
interface (proprietary or otherwise), you won't be able to hook it up. I still
have my first CDROM (a Denon I payed $750 in 89 – speed demon at 60k/s!) and it
works just fine using newer SCSI controllers.
I don't know what SCSI controller you have. You should load at least two
drivers for it to work with CDROM. A CDROM SCSI driver itself (SCSICD.SYS or
something worded similarly) and later (from the Autoexec) a MSCDEX.EXE driver.
