Rachel: The spline-patch modeller is a separate module and requires that you export the newly created geometry to the editor. I believe this means that a translation to polygons must take place. When I saw all of the motion capture/kinematic stuff being demoed this week I pictured a thousand or so walking People for People milling about in the lobby and strolling the hallways of a building I'm working on.
