The rendering of BEZIER patches – this great feature seems likes its being overlooked by people. Here's the scoop – Bezier patches will (at your option) call a BEZIER.AXP at rendering time, so the renderer uses the position of the object BUT calculates its edge smoothness by your viewing position to it. THis is called "addaptive tessalation" and basically means that the closer you get, the smoother it will render – you will not be able to get a jagged edge! On the plus side, the farther you move away, the lower the face count and the faster it will render. Organic landscapes just took on a whole new possibility! Note that the face reduction is occurring in the body of the mesh, while the edges remain rock solid. – Phil
