James, Sometimes when I need a quick scan and no scanner available I'll fax the item to my computer. Later I can convert the FAX to IFF format and load it into various draw/paint programs for touch-up. I've also been successful at connecting a FAX machine AND the FAX/MODEM together via the same phone line. Just go off-hook and wait until after the telco recording and warning tones to subside. Then you'll have a nice quiet line. Start both FAX machine and FAXmodem and watch for the connection and feed to start. Christopher
