It would take the special CDROM drivers that Commodore would not make available for the Amiga. Sometimes the extra functions in the CDTV drivers are useful to a CDROM developer and they will use the functions, making the software incompatible with the plain drivers used on Amigas. If Commodore had included the drivers with AmigaDOS, CDTV/32 developers would have millions of additional potential customers. Instead, Commodore kept CDTV/32 walled-off and essentially a separate platform (somewhat compatible, but people don't want to chances with "somewhat"). -Chris
