#IVS Trump/A4000/040
David: You are giving up on your 4000 too easily! Although the 4000 does
have it's quirks, most of the time it will run just fine with very few
guru visits. I would say your SCSI controller is the most likely culprit,
and you might check into purchasing a GVP 4008 or the DKB 4091 if you can
afford it. The GVP controller will work fine with either the -09 or -11
SuperBuster and gets a decent transfer rate of 750K-1MB/sec transfer
rates. The 4091 requires the -11 Buster and 3.1 (or above) processor
board.
Some programs don't like the Copyback cache of the 68040, but unless it's
a game, I usually trash such programs. Same goes for a lot of programs
that cause Enforcer hits.
