Erik,
I managed to get AMITCP with NetFS running to try as an alternative. I'm
way past the 120MB mark now and still no problems. If you want to set it
up, here is what you need: AMITCP.LHA (version 2.2), TCP23.LHA, NETFS.LHA.
I don't remember whether they're in AmigaUser or AmigaTech.
Install AMITCP, then install the TCP23 update over it per instructions.
To install AMITCP, you have to work around a couple bugs in their
installer (isn't this _fun_?). First, do _not_ install it from RAM: or
another dir into your destination dir; Make your AMITCP drawer where you
want then de-arc AMITCP into that dir; Give the installer that dir to
install to (install over itself). This avoids having missing subdirs which
AMITCP install forgot to copy. Before you run install, ASSIGN AMITCP: to
your drawer (install expects it to be assigned, even if you've never
installed a previous version before). Now you can "safely" run install. If
you have problems getting it to work, just let me know.
Basic transfer speed is about the same as Envoy, but "random access" type
operations like dir scans are much slower. I don't know if ths is the
fault of AmiTCP or NetFS.
