Hi Rocky, I've been using the V-Deck for about a year, and like it very much. I discovered that it will resond to commands from a Sony VCR remote control (set to deviice two). I have one witha jog shuttle and it works fine on the V-deck.(not to mention all the other missing controls, like counter reset, etc.) Gary
