The error rates you reported are consistent with what IMS (and other
companies) claim with RC timecode. I really don't think you can get more
accurate with decks near this price range.
Now if only there was someone else who could tell me how the MP2.0S setup
performed. In my mind, besides accuracy, there is also the question of
mechanics. For instance, if the camcorders are under playback control via
IR, then _how_ does MP adjust the tape speed if, say, tape-A is 4 frames
behind tape-B? By briefly using the Pause command? What if it has to keep
Pausing and un-Pausing five times until they're synched? From what I
understand of Control-L and VISCA, the A&B decks are positioned at a few
seconds before the IN points; When both are paused there, they are told to
unpause simultaneously and minor adjustments in sync are done with special
commands to advance/retard tape speed by X amount of frames. Is this
consistent with what you know and the behavior of your decks?
