Level 2 w MSDOS?
I've got an ISO Level 2 CDROM that I'd like to be able to use on an MS-DOS
machine. There's a couple long directory and filenames on the disc that don't
work well with MS-DOS. For example, there are directories named like
"VEHICLES_LAND" "VEHICLES_AIR" and "VEHICLES_SPACE". These all appear as
"VEHICLES" under MS-DOS. You can 'cd' into them under Windows NT, which
confirms that WinNT can handle ISO Level 2 discs.
For files, some DOS programs that work with wildcards can open files that have
apparently the same filename. Others can't.
Barring any other solution, can anyone confirm if you could make a 'cd', 'dir'
and 'copy' using Microsoft's MSCDEX developer tools that would be compatible
with ISO Level 2 discs?
I've got Microsoft's MDN Level 2 developer tools, but so far, I haven't found
the right MSCDEX documentation… disc 8 has MSDOS/MSCDEX, but these appear to
be docs for drivers that exist below MSCDEX itself, not MSCDEX.
