Hi, Rob– I also expect a large fraction of meteoroids to be near the ecliptic plane. But the odds on seeing north/south paths may not reflect the odds of a near-ecliptic arrival direction. I am imagining a meteoroid traveling in the ecliptic plane, but passing "under" the south pole, and being pulled "up" by Earth's gravity to hit the atmosphere on the farther side traveling north. I am not clear on how often this sort of thing will happen, so yours might easily be a non-ecliptic oddball. –Doug
