Hi there: With the increadible advancment in computer animation and increasing complexity of what can be achived with animation softwares, i was wondering if most animators are still jack of all trades, and basically a one man/women show!!?? It would seem to that at this stage of the game and even more so in the future, specilized skills would be more efficiant. For example i think there should be people that only make meshes and are not enevolved with anything else. Then there are people who only do material editing and lighting of the scene. Last, there are people who only do animation(apply motion to the objects) I sometimes introduce myself as a computer animator. This in my mind refers to all of the above! But come to think of it, not all of the above is animation. I think model building and materil and lighting design skills are quite different from animation skills and all of the above should not be refered to as the same thing?! Any way, maybee thats how it is in larger CG firms. Just a thought! what do you think. ara
