#Need Clothing Mesh!
Although it has been quite some time since my last period of active involvement
on ASOFT (we have been doin' the 90 hour week thing here at Computer
Services!), I am apealing to those people who I feel are the most competent to
assist me with an interesting opportunity. I am in dire need of meshes that
are clothing based.
A client came to me with an interesting proposal for using 3D-Studio in a
prototype fashion design opportunity. This company travels to trade shows,
meeting with different clients for custom fashion designs. Basically, there
are going to be sales personnel traveling with color notebooks, and they want
to build a library of standard mesh and fabric options, so they can "mix and
match" to the clients liking.
This will allow the design to be instantly approved, submitted to the home
office via a remote communications server on a Novell network, where the
patterns will be produced using AutoCAD. It's an interesting opportunity for
me, as well as someone else!
There are two opportunities here…
1) The immediate opportunity would be to someone
that could supply a couple mesh files (like a
Man's shirt and jacket, a Women's skirt and
blouse, etc.). Since the preliminary work on
this proposal is being speculated by our firm,
there is not a large financial opportunity.
However, as a dealer I would be willing to
possibly "make a deal" on a PAR or something
as compensation for the time spent! (Can you
say "sweeten the pot" <bg>)
2) The second opportunity will be for someone
to produce mesh files for all their "standard"
designs. This work would be contracted between
that person and this firm, at whatever financial
arrangement could be reached.
I think that this is an interesting (at least for Kansas) application of
3D-Studio, and will appreciate any assistance given. Please, in respecting the
"rules of decorum" for the form, please keep any responses of a financial
matter in E-Mail.
Thank you in advance,
Chuck
