I agree that art background is the key. Computer animation is not just procedure!! On the other hand i think each aspect of an animation can be a specilized field of art and procedure on its own! For example: i could be very good and artistic in my approach towards character animeation (i can make a simple cube express emotions and do the tango) but on the other hand, i might be totally out to lunch when it comes to set design and color coordination!! This is where specialization comes into the picture! In order to have a "consitant production quality", i see specialization a very likly scenario in the future . ara
