The idea appealed to me, too, because there are certainly "spots" around the
country that have these sorts of fossils… I can think of Kansas roadcuts that
interest me by the raw bucketful… crinoid stems, fragile sea fan fragments,
etc. and others have told me of spots in Texas where echinoids can be had by
the bucketful. It would be a great thing for non-profits to handle. For that
matter, I think local rock shows would benefit from exploiting the PR value of
low-priced fossils and dinosaur-oriented displays.
