Steve, Thanks, I hadn't thought about approaching it from that angle. But it makes sense. Would you recommend a book or two for a beginner. Are there any periodicals/magazines specific to metal detecting. Do you have any literature on the models you carry, or can you recommend a shop in the Washington, D.C. or Baltimore areas? I think a little research is in order before I delve any further into this subject. Thanks again, John
