As for pricing – in free markets, the only price is set between buyer and
seller. I'm sure both parties would have their own rules of thumb, like
knowing that a local shop sells shark teeth for $1, and trilobites for $3, or
whatever.
If these museums are pitching to kids, I've always thought that a combination
of these little plastic cases with built-in magnifiers and these mini-fossiles
from Kansas roadside gravel would make a great combo.
