I had the same problem with the first p-60 I bought about 6 months ago.
Everything ran great but 3DS would bomb with that message while starting about
2/3 of the time. I even tried to replace my simms. I ended up selling that
machine and getting a new 90mhz Gateway and the problems ceased. Good luck.
