Actually, my clock wasn't loosing quite that much. I did open the case,
and tweak the trimmer, and it has helped, although it still is slow. I
just haven't had time to clean off the desk enough to get the case out far
enough to unplug everything to…. :-}
Another thing to remember is that the trimmer is basically ceramic, and
won't stand a lot of pressure. If you use a screwdriver blade that's the
proper size, pressure shouldn't be needed.
The thing that makes regulating quartz watches or circuits such as these
fun, is the fact that you can move the trimmer 1/8 turn and make, for
instance a difference of 10 secs per day. Move it another 1/8 turn and you
might make a 90 sec per day change in the freq. The timer I have available
at work dosen't have a remote probe to pick up the frequency, or I might
have been tempted to borrow it for a weekend. One of these days I'll pull
the case off and tweak it some more (probably make too much difference :-/
). I've been thinking of adding some more RAM, maybe that will give me the
excuse I need to operate!
