NH>It seems the name of the sockets ROM 0 or ROM 1 are wrong but the socket numbers are correct. You might want to check this. The old ROMs were in (what could be called) reverse order and that is the way the instructions said to put in the new ROMs which I did. I read somewhere else where putting them in in logical order (i.e., ROM 0 in U180 and ROM 1 in U181) didn't work at all; no ability to use the install or anything until the reversal (illogical) of the ROMs. NH>Seems that having sychronous SCSI set caused this problem. Don't know what is meant here, either. But as I indicated, my A3K is almost vanilla. I have a total of 10 Megs of RAM, otherwise, vanilla. Norman, I didn't get anything diffinitive from anyone, so will have to wait to see how you come out. One thing I did forget was holding down both left and right mouse buttons at bootup to get the machine to do a 'heads up' with a selection screen. Don't know if that is a consideration with 3.1 as it was with the software KS in 2.04. Geesse, I wish someone would give me some good words here. Later.
