Bruce, Full height drives are about 3.5" thick and they are all 5.25" drives. Pretty much the only time you see them anymore is on multi-gigabyte drives. Most of the drives you are likely to be looking at are half height 3.5" drives that can be mounted in a floppy drive bay. Reliable brands are Micropolis, Quantum, Maxtor, and Seagate. Seagates tend to be a little slow to spin up so sometimes the system times out and you have to reboot. As for installation, usually all you need to do is set the drive address, pull the terminating resistors from the first drive, and plug in the cables. If you're not using a premade 50 pin cable with keyed connectors make sure you're very careful to get pin 1 lined up on all the connectors. Software setup depends on the program. GVP's is pretty simple to setup but I've never used Commodore's software. Jeff H…
