Thomas,
Thank you (and Rocky and G.E.) for your input. I really need this.
"I use a MediaPhile 2.0 controller purchased about three years ago with
MediaEditor. This is an infrared controller that works great with my two
EV-S7000 source decks and my Panasonic AG-1960 recording deck…"
This must be the MP2.0A controller in their catalog. Is it just a
_single_ unit you're using to control both 7000s? I was told by IMS that
two were required: one for each play deck. I'm thinking about using MP
with two TR-700 camcorders (which have full timecode support).
"Fortunately my A2000 is still working. If I am not able to get the 4000
repaired I will continue to do editing with MediaEditor on the A2000,
sell the A4000 and Toaster 4000 for any price I can get, and eventually
build up an editing/animation system that is PC based."
Have you moved your Toaster to the A2000 for the time being? At least
that will give you the ability to do switching and transitions. I suggest
you _wait_ right now: Nothing on the PC can currently match the
cost/performance of the Flyer, and the future of the Amiga is undecided.
Hopefully, eith a good Flyer-like NLE will become available for PCs or the
Amiga will resume production (or both) before too long.
