Hmmmm. This is a touchy one. I have been playing with the IBM/AMIGA
concept for a few weeks now. Here's my input. The toaster output is
touchy at best. With no Component support, it is definitely not the
#1 output device. Do you use a PAR? The Amiga par is still revision
one. The IBM par is in revision two. At SIGGRAPH, they said they
have no plans to update the Amiga PAR at this time. True, output
boards on the IBM are expensive. But, you will be able to render
faster, cheaper on the IBM. IBMs are much more inexpensive when
compared to a similarly sped up Amiga.
Third party devlopers were sometimes doing nothing more than plugging
a new bus into the Commodore Amigas to increase their speed.
Commodore constantly put out faster computers with worse and worse
busses (the 4000) I am not trying to be hostile here. I just think
that with more and more software and hardware developers leaving the
Amiga (ASDG won't even acknowledge us anymore!) it might be best to
look to the faster and less expensive machines.
