Nope, Photoshop 2.5 handles 24-bit IFFs perfectly. Do it all the
time. But, you're right TIFF & TARGA are more popular. I create
graphic stills that go to our edit bay via a Mac and a hardware
(black box) and software set called Titleman by Digital F/X
(defunct). It accepts it's own proprietary format (sort of like a
framestore), PICT or EPSF. Well it won't take an ADPro PICT unless
processed through Photoshop, which works out well because I typically
need to attach and alpha channel image to it for Titleman's key
channel. I've never gotten an EPSF to work, though, and that's okay
because I don't think it buys me anything.
BTW, did I read in the manual that imported PICT images with an alpha
channel can be composited using that alpha channel somehow? How? How
does ADPro handle a 32-bit image? -Steve
