You are right about the Amiga being king in regards to animation… but other platforms are "catching" up and will most likely pass up the stuff running on the Amiga platform. The MAC is great for MIDI although what once was an almost exclusive position has now been caught up by most of the platforms out there. I really like Opcodes software (Vision, Galaxy, etc.), although many people will say that other software is better, more power to them. I cannot afford to spend $ buying all the software packages avaliable let alone the time to learn them so I have chosen Opcode for my MIDI software. You are right about music being required for video/animation projects. It is interesting that the soundtrack can make the film really come alive. For example the soundtrack to the file "The Firm" was almost exclusively piano, Dave Grusin wrote and played the soundtrack. Anyway some of the scenes are so intense with the driving piano music behind them. This film is almost a throwback to the days of early theatre where the soundtrack was played live in the theatre by a pianist or organist. Very interesting.
