Michael, The Jazz WAS (passed tense) a product of Electrohome (in Canada) before the technology was sold outright to Iden in the US. Although no longer in current manufacture (no warranty left on my unit) the Ensemble version of the Jazz sold for about $16,000 US dollars when introduced. The unit was recently aligned by Ikon Video who is contracted by Iden to handle all authorized parts and service. My selling price would probably be in the neighborhood of $7,000. The Basic Alladin media printer (which is a black box that requires the use of your own seperate 486 DX66) is $10,000. Current pricing for PC clones equipped properly to run Alladin is just about $2,000. SO the Total to get into the Alladin is about $12,00 (plus TBC's for your inputs). As a point of reference it should be noted that DVEs of Alladin's caliber sell in the $25,000 range WITHOUT any of the extra bells and whistles Alladin comes with. Suffice to say that Pinnacle has attempted to present a Toaster work-alike that offers the features that were thought to be lacking.
