I Recently purchased a Multistart II (MS#23811) and a 2.1 Rom Upgrade Kit (as215). I have an Amiga 2000 with a rev. 6 mother board. When I installed the chips on the multistart I put the 1.3 chip in the first slot (boots to) & the 2.1 chip in the other slot. In connecting the ribbon cable to the Mother board I made sure that the Red line was facing the #1 position. When I attached the cable to the Multistart I did not face the ribbon cable to the #1 possition… The cable fried down the center. I dismantaled it all and put the 1.3 rom back in the computer and everthing runs just fine. BUT when I try to put the 2.1 Rom in the computer without the Multistart, the power light flashes, and the screen just rolls virtical lines with green flashes every so often. I did cut the wire jumper on the 2.1 chip. What I would like to know is: 1) did I wipe out the 2.1 Rom? 2) Can I order just another ribbon cable for the Multistart II? 3) Is ther a way to check the 2.1 Rom? 4) How much would it be to purchase another 2.1 rom?
