In addition to what Larry said about GOMF:
1) Not sure it's documented well: RUN GOMF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Make it THE
first item in your startup-sequence. The Other Guys say that it snapshots the
system vectors, and the sooner you get them, the better chance you have of
recovering from all errors.
2) GOMF will not run with Marauder. TOG say this is because Marauder uses the
same snapshot trick, and that they interfere.
3) If you like GOMF 1.0, be advised that TOG have the commercial release, GOMF
2.0, ready. Cost is around $30, which isn't much more than some shareware
stuff. TOG say that 2.0 is a lot friendlier and has a bunch of neat new
features. I have a copy coming so I can take a look to see if I want it. I
will say that 1.0 is nice, slick, and works pretty well. I had mine installed
almost at the END of my startup-sequence by mistake, and it caught most of the
GURUs. I've taken it out of my system, reluctantly, because I need the memory
for C compiles at the moment. With my environment, 1.5 meg just isn't enough.
