I have been keeping my eye peeled for a Celtic-style harp for some time, but the only one I've seen, so far, I was unable to afford at the time. While I mostly play blues- country-influenced rock, I also have a favorite musician who's now a Scottish bard, in the old sense. At his shows he plays harp and tells circuitous tales, as well as playing various other stringed instruments to accompany songs. To "cover" his tunes and general vibe I want to learn to play. It would also be nice to have a portable instrument where the hands can operate seperately. I can play contrapuntally on the guitar, somewhat, but it's a bitch. I've thought of slicing the webbing between my fingers but realize it wouldn't really help. <g> What sort of harp have you got? What's the range? DT
