#ATI Mach 64

I recently acquired a Gateway p5-120 system with a Mach 64 GX. When I'm using
3D Studio Release 3, the screen freezes when I begin a rendering (usually
during the object transformation phase). If I hit the space bar twice, which
switches me from the graphics screen to the rendering screen and back, then
everthing works fine and I can get a nice rendered image. Problem is, this
happens every time. Does anyone else with a Mach 64 card ave this problem?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
