Glenn,
>> I have a really short piece that uses as many IPAS's as I could lay my hand
on without it getting too razzle dazzle. <<
that's great and a bit like what I did last year. 2 out of the 3 shots I got on
the reel last year were custom made for Siggraph.
>> What about yourself Martin? Anything I should wet myself with anticipation
over?(G) <<
not me personally. I concentrated on submissions through MetroLight and I
believe we may have got a couple of shots from the Herbie Hancock music video
on the reel. I only had a small influence on these shots, since I was only
supervising the work of the 3d Studio animator (Lars Fields) who did the
scenes. Lars specializes in very abstract, sexual, plants and animals, mostly
fictious, and some of his personal work should be on the Siggraph reel too. The
entire music video should be showing throughout the show all over the place and
particularly on a video wall outside the electronic theatre. Alternatively, it
should be on MTV and/or VH1 music channels wherever Herbie is popular.
I wanted to work on my own scene for Herbie, but they gave me a prominent film
resolution, holographic talking head scene to do in "Virtuosity", which was
higher profile and much more profitable.
Are you coming to Siggraph? You didn't say.
Martin
