Alan, I tried it, and it worked like a charm. I know now what the missing piece of the puzzle was. I see that I did not have a real clear picture of how these elements in the materials editor work together. Thanks to your last, I think I now do. Anyway, I've got the look I was going for and can now predict what I will see as I change things around in the materials editor. Thanks Alan, I appreciate the help, Terry
