Richard, The problem you are experiencing is quite common. Here are a few different ways to solve your problem, use your judgement on which one suits you best. 1. Use the Make Final (selected only) with the frame you need to use as the still frame. Then import the ANI and you will be able to drag it to any length you need. 2. If you already know the length or if you know the approx. length, the best bet is to use the PAR DOS Application and copy that single frame to the length you need. This process makes the rendering in RP much quicker, RP will not have to render the sequence of frames, this process gives you the fastest render time. 3. The easiest way to do this, but the longest in render time, is to use the Freeze Frame effect in RP. You would split the clip as you described and then apply the Freeze Frame Effect to the last frame. BTW- I saw the new Speed Razor Mach III at SIGGRAPH, Wow!! What a performance increase using it with the new PVR from DPS. All frames which have no effects or transitions applied do not get rendered, and then the frames with an edit applied render very fast. -Mike
