>> >> but if all you want is file conversion, why not just use Alchemy or Hijaak on your PC? << Ah-ha! I guess I didn't phrase my initial post correctly. I would prefer a PC-based solution. Can you tell me more about these programs? Cost, features, dealer #'s… They can read, write, and convert Mac image files, as well as reading/writing Mac written floppy disks? Paul S. << Paul, Just got back from Siggraph and was trying to get caught up on mail. I just saw your post. We have used Image Alchemy for a couple of years. It is a fast, robust format conversion program that works at the DOS command line. It converts between numerous Mac/DOS/SGI image formats, but does not read foreign disk formats. The most recent version is supposed to work with alpha channels. (our version 1.7 sometimes complains) The vendor is Handmade Software in Los Gatos, CA 800.358.3588. You can probably get a demo (640x480max) copy in GRAPHSUPPORT forum. You could also try GRAPHFF (file find). Their CIS is 71330,3136 Terry Gilbert Forcade & Associates
