>I am thinking about getting a HP3C scanner to tie into the animation works. There is a very good chance that this will be tied into one of the 486's until we get the second dual. Does anyone know if this scanner requires a slot for a SCSI card or does it use a port if you already have a SCSI controller installed?< I have a Canon IX-4015. It came with its own SCSI card, but I got Adaptec ASPI drivers for it that allowed me to plug it into my Adaptec 2940 PCI SCSI card. It works great, but I can only use it in Windows 3.1 at this time. There are no NT drivers yet. This may change when W95 ships, I assume W95 drivers will work under NT. The HP scanners are supported under NT. >Also, does anyone know if this is a good scanner to use for images in the 3D environment?< You pretty much can't go wrong with the HP, it is about $300 than the Canon. I think Canon makes the HP or HP makes the Canon. The IX-4015 uses the identical case as the HP 3P. Most scanners will work well for 3D work. For print work some will be better than others. With image editing software like Photoshop you can take just about any bad scan and make it usable.
