Ben, Well, I was never unsatisfied with Emplant's speed, even if it was slower than now it was more than adequate. The problem then was that you couldn't read 800k Mac disks without Sybil reliably and it didn't write either 800k or HD format floppies. My problem was that at work I wouldn't be able to read my colleagues disks nor write ones they could read because Emplant then didn't write a Mac format compatible disk. I also couldn't get a large enough system allocated because with only 8 meg of fast ram I could only allocate about a 3.5 meg system. With System 7.0 loaded there wasn't enough ram left to load Word let alone edit a file! With 7.1 the system allocation is even larger. Currently my system uses a shade under 3.0 meg. Emplant couldn't use any more than half the available ram, at the time. Guess that has all changed. Perhaps I should put in an order, again, and give it a try once more.
