By shear numbers power pcs are faster than Pentiums. But since power PC are
new, there software is not mature. So in reality Petiums will show better
numbers. Also when you are talking power PC are you talking MACs or the IBM
version of PPC (which hasn't shipped yet!!!???" If IBM version guess what OS it
will have Win NT.
One other point the Intel P6 will be out soon. It is designed for
multiprocessor operations and wil have cache built right on the chip. Intel
claims a 4 proccssor P6 board will do 1000 mips. Hows that for speed at what
will be an affordable price.
